A Concert in a Vanished Church: Contextualizing Peace Island's Auditory History with Modern Technology
DescriptionOur project aims to revitalize archaeological sites through music technology and transform unearthed artifacts and echoes of past lives into auditory experiences. "Ashes to Ashes," a live performance, and an accompanying documentary translate archaeological findings into innovative soundscapes using methods like 3D printing, sound synthesis, and data sonification. This interdisciplinary endeavor bridges historical conservation and artistic innovation, deepening public connection with heritage. Our work exemplifies the transformative power of integrating history, archaeology, and modern music technology in reinterpreting human legacy.
