XRweld: An In-situ Extended Reality Platform for Welding Education
SessionImmersive Pavilion Installations
DescriptionXRweld leverages extended reality to augment welding training. Due to the specific embodied knowledge of metal welding, it can be difficult to learn and master the subtleties without extensive, hands-on mentorship. XRweld enables performance analysis and real-time, in-helmet visual feedback to scaffold novice welders through their educational journey.
