Cybersickness Reduction via Gaze-contingent Image Deformation

DescriptionWe introduce a novel technique to mitigate cybersickness by gaze-contingent geometrical distortions that reduce vection. Based on pre-study insights, we formulate a perceptual model that defines noticeability limits for these modifications. Our technique, implemented as a real-time post-processing step in current rendering frameworks, was favored over alternatives in VR scenarios.
