60. A Surface-based Appearance Model for Pennaceous Feathers
DescriptionWe propose a weighted BSDF of the key biological structures of a feather such as the barbs and barbules based on an analytical masking term derived from elliptical-cylinders fibers. Our model accounts for both pigmentation and non iridescent structural coloration approximated by a diffuse medulla inside the barbs.
