Biography
Hey there, I'm Eric Pinkel, and I'm passionate about revolutionizing the world of VFX production. With over a decade of experience as a 3D Content Global Delivery Manager, I've been deeply involved in exploring innovative solutions to empower aspiring artists and enhance workflow efficiency.
One of my recent endeavors involves collaborating with CG Pro and CenterGrid to pioneer the integration of cutting-edge virtual production workstations for Unreal students. Together, we've established a platform that provides accessible, high-performance cloud workstations tailored specifically for VFX and CGI production. This initiative aims to bridge the gap for students who may not have access to top-tier hardware, making it easier for them to unleash their creativity and dive into the world of real-time virtual production.
In addition to my work with CG Pro and CenterGrid, I've also been actively involved in driving sustainability initiatives in VFX education. At the University of Southern California (USC), I've worked closely with Sanjay Madhav, an Associate Professor, to transition their Unreal courses to sustainable cloud computing. By leveraging renewable-powered CenterGrid Virtual Studio workstations, we're not only enhancing accessibility but also reducing the environmental impact of VFX education.
Beyond academia, I'm also engaged in consulting for CenterGrid, where I've played a pivotal role in creating the Virtual Studio cloud platform. This platform addresses critical challenges in IT, security, and workflow for CGI production, making it easier for artists to collaborate and work seamlessly in the cloud.
