Biography
Ying Wu is a project scientist at the Swartz Center for Computational Neuroscience (SCCN) at UC
San Diego. She obtained an M. A. in Applied Linguistics at UC Los Angeles and Ph.D. in Cognitive Science
at UC San Diego, supported in part by an NSF Graduate Opportunities Fellowship. Her research centers
on higher order cognitive functions, including multi-modal discourse processing and problem solving. She
commands over ten years of experience in cognitive neuroscience methods, including advanced
computational methods in analysis of electroencephalographic (EEG) data, and has pioneered new
methods in studying embodied aspects of higher order cognition.
