In 2022 Lance left USC where he’d managed multiple 3D animation and design minors for thirteen years to accept a tenure-track professorship at Missouri Western State University where he is actively spearheading a renaissance of the university’s Digital Animation program. His body of research includes the award-winning Within an Endless Sky, which debuted at SIGGRAPH 2022 and is recognized as the first film made in Maya at CalArts. A Formlabs Ambassador, he’s a passionate advocate for building innovative applied learning and workforce development initiatives at all academic levels. When not teaching, he is a filmmaker and practicing artist.
