Courtney Starrett

Biography
Courtney Starrett is an associate professor and Adams Interdisciplinary Professor in Visualization at Texas A&M University. Starrett’s work exists at the intersection of art, craft, and technology. Her work is in permanent collections and cited in the Springer Handbook on Human-Computer Interaction (2023) chapter Data Physicalization (Dragicevic et al., 2019), published in journals such as Leonardo (MIT Press), Metalsmith Magazine, and How Design Magazine; and texts such as Cast: Art and Objects. With Susan Reiser, Starrett coined the term data materialization to describe a subgenre of data art which utilizes data to connect concept through form and material.
