Biography
Daniel Temkin's work examines the clash between systemic logic and human irrationality. He is the first artist to bring esolangs into the museum with his 2014 project Light Pattern. He has covered esolangs for Hyperallergic and Outland and wrote the first aesthetic theory of esolangs for Digital Humanities Quarterly. His esolangs blog esoteric.codes won the 2014 ArtsWriters.org grant from Creative Capital. Esoteric.codes was exhibited at ZKM and written in residence at Signal Culture and the New Museum's NEW INC incubator. Temkin has spoken on esolangs at the New Museum, SIGGRAPH, SXSW, and Media Art Histories among others.
