Biography
Shohei Oshiro is a Ph.D. student at the Plant Developmental Signaling Laboratory of Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST) in Japan. He earned a Bachelor of Biotechnology from the National Institute of Technology, Okinawa College and a master’s degree of Bioscience from NAIST. When he was a master student, he was interested in developmental processes of lateral roots in plants, and established analysis methods that were able to quantitate lateral root developmental behaviors (Master’s thesis, 2021). Currently, using these analysis methods, he is studying how plants (in general) decide the positioning of their lateral root formations.
