Biography
Daniel Pillis is an active interdisciplinary artist, researcher, and educator. Currently a graduate student at the MIT Media Lab working with Dr. Hiroshi Ishii in the Tangible Media Group. He holds an MFA from Carnegie Mellon University where they worked with Ivan Sutherland, eminent figure in computer graphics. He holds a BA in English, Psychology and Art from Rutgers University. He held previous posts as a research assistant at the CMU Robotics Institute and as a Research Assistant Professor of Immersive Environments at the Institute for Creativity, Art & Technology. They have previously held junior faculty positions at Virginia Tech and Princeton University. For the last 6 years, he has been a founding member of the ACM SIGGRAPH Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee.
