Ed Kramer
Biography
Over 40 years as a CGI artist in Hollywood, New York, Atlanta, San Francisco and at NASA in Houston. Twelve years during the golden age of CGI (1994-2006) as a Sequence Supervisor at George Lucas' legendary company Industrial Light & Magic. Known for supervising the Scarab Beetle shots from "The Mummy" and the Rock Monster shots from "Galaxy Quest." Also supervised shots in the Droid Factory and End Battle sequences from "STAR WARS Episode II: Attack of the Clones." Before ILM, worked for Kleiser/Walczak on the Helmet Morph shots from "Stargate" and the Columbia Pictures "Lady with a Torch" logo. Since 2010 has been a college professor at the Colorado Film School, The Art Institute of Colorado, and the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. Since 2019 served as Chair of the SIGGRAPH Pioneers Group. Host of "CGI Fridays" podcast interviewing pioneering CGI artists about their feature film work.
