John McGhee is a practicing 3D computer artist, director and founder of the 3DXLab (3DVAL) and Professor at UNSW Sydney, School of Art and Design. He has a PhD in computer arts with a background in animation and VFX education. His visual practice explores arts-led modes of visualizing complex scientific and biomedical data using 3D computer arts and cinematic storytelling approaches. His academic research investigates the application of creative practice, technical innovation and immersive platforms to new visualization challenges.
