Biography
Recipient of SIGGRAPH Distinguished Artist Lifetime Achievement Award in Digital Art, SAT Montreal iX Visionary Pioneer Award and AWE XR Hall of Fame for life‘s work creating politically and socially critical media artworks exploring place, space, the body and cultural identity. In 1986 visual design of first AI supercomputer (now in MoMA NY), in 1994 first VR metaverse for children and in 2002 first VR artwork acquired by a US art museum (San Jose Art Museum). AR works include interventions into MoMA NY (2010) and Venice Biennial (2011); AR commissions include Whitney Museum (2018, in collection) and Smithsonian Institution (2021).
