SUMMARY:Lead SoC Architect GPU
DESCRIPTION:Lead SoC Architect GPU, Graphics\nat Samsung Research America\
n665 Clyde Avenue, Mountain View, CA, USA\n\nLab Overview:\n\nThe Samsung
SOC Lab vision provides innovative SoC architecture, bus / memory subsyste
m, multimedia subsystems and key IP blocks for future Samsung Galaxy produ
cts (Smartphones, tablets and future devices). We are defining the high pe
rformance SoC architecture development for various Galaxy device lineups.
This lab collaborates with Samsung's strategic SoC partners, Samsung MX he
adquarter team, and key R&D teams around the globe to innovate and reinven
t technology that will positively impact millions of people around the wor
ld via the Galaxy flagship products.\n\nPosition Summary:\n\nWe are lookin
g for a Lead SOC Architect for next generation SOCs. This is a highly visi
ble hands on role leading individual and team contributions to GPU sub-sys
tem architecture, interface, performance and power tradeoffs.\n\nPosition
Responsibilities:\n\nGuide on development of innovative GPU Architectural
and microarchitectural features to boost PPA (Performance, Power and Area)
on various targeted workloads in next generation SOCs\nIdentify and deliv
er GPU subsystem architecture proposals for products in new and existing m
arkets\nEvaluate architecture proposal benefits in collaboration with team
of SoC Architects and communicate the results across related engineering
audiences (SW, HW, Architecture, Leadership)\nPerform high-level performan
ce modeling/simulation and analysis of GPU features, applications, benchma
rks, and complex uses cases\nDirect and orchestrate performance modeling,
and studies to support inclusion of these features in the next generation
“Fabric, System cache and DRAM controller” microarchitecture based on perf
ormance, area or power improvement\nDeliver architecture/microarchitecture
proposals and specifications to the design team and articulate them effec
tively across audiences ranging from hardware & software engineers to arch
itecture community peers, and to technology leadership\nCollaborate with s
ilicon bring-up and product teams to verify and debug the proposal and its
delivered performance\nCollaborate across teams to bring microarchitectur
al proposals to fruition across the SOC, Driver, OS, System through detail
ed documentations\nRequired Skills:\n\nBSc, Masters, or PhD in Computer Sc
ience/Engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training, and e
xperience\n15+ years of experience in SOC or ASIC design and architecture\
nPrior direct experience (> 7 years) in GPU subsystem architecture or micr
oarchitecture is required\nHigh proficiency in architecture analysis and p
erformance modeling, ranging from simple analytical models to complex cycl
e accurate performance model and correlation, especially around GPU IPs\nA
bility to leverage existing simulation capabilities [GEM5, FastSIM, Platfo
rm Architect] or create new simulation capabilities when necessary\nDetail
ed knowledge of ARM bus infrastructure (ACE/AXI/AHB), GPU architecture and
new development\nLeadership across hardware, software, and platform group
s to align all parties to a common vision\nOur total rewards programs are
designed to motivate and engage exceptional talent. The base pay range for
roles at this level is listed below, but may be higher or lower in other
states due to geographic differentials in the labor market. Within the bas
